🍂 In October, French is full of flavour!
Back-to-school season is behind us, the leaves are falling, the evenings are drawing in… and it's exactly the right moment to build a real French routine: one class a week, a little practice on the side, and you make progress without even noticing.
At La Coop.FLE, our courses and workshops are open, and you can join them at any time: if you're not sure, write to us and we'll happily point you in the right direction.
🆕 New: three courses on Wednesday mornings!
Starting Wednesday 4 November, we are opening three online courses by video call, every Wednesday from 10am to 12pm (Paris time):
A2 — to communicate effectively from the very first lessons
B1 — to gain confidence in speaking and writing
B2 — to gain precision and independence with more complex content
All three follow an action-oriented approach: you learn by doing, through concrete tasks and real-life situations.
Prices (packages of hours, renewable or can be paused): 20 h = €260 · 30 h = €360 · 40 h = €440
How to sign up? Write to us: one of our teachers will contact you for a short Zoom interview (to check your speaking level and welcome you into the group). You can also fill in this questionnaire directly.
Not sure of your level? Take our placement test.
Individual and small-group lessons are also available.
👉 Ready to get back to French? Check the course schedule or write to us, and we'll help you find the course that suits you.

🍽️ A taste of culture: October, the month we sit down to eat
In October, several French-speaking countries celebrate autumn… through food.
In France, it's the Semaine du Goût, the "Week of Taste" (until 18 October this year): since 1990, schools, artisans, restaurants and families have come together to share the pleasure of eating well and their culinary heritage.
In Quebec, Thanksgiving (l'Action de grâce) falls on the second Monday of October (the 12th this year): the last long weekend before winter, when families gather around turkey, squash, cranberries and pumpkin pie.
In Switzerland, in the canton of Fribourg, it's the season of the Bénichon, a great autumn feast: saffron brioche (cuchaule) with Bénichon mustard, ham, bricelets (thin wafers), meringues with double cream…
Three ways to celebrate the harvest… always around a table.

🎧 Cultural tip: follow the autumn literary prizes
After the September "rentrée littéraire", it's time for the big prizes: the Goncourt has announced its shortlist, and the winners will be revealed in early November (Médicis on the 2nd, Goncourt and Renaudot on the 3rd). A great opportunity to read in French, listen to interviews with the authors and pick your own favourite — levels B2/C1.
